Highlights:
The Gilbert High School volleyball tournament, a beloved tradition started by Student Council, brought students together once again this year. The tournament ran from February 2 to February 12. Although it was shorter than in past years, teams still had a great time competing against classmates and peers.
The first game was played between OVO and Bye, with OVO winning and advancing in the winners’ bracket. Other early matchups included Team 6 vs. Ball Smashers, Set-sy Men vs. Super Cool, and Bye vs. Hit-Men. As the tournament continued, teams competed through each round to earn a spot in the finals.
Set-sy Men faced off against Hit-Men and secured the win, while OVO defeated Ball Smashers to advance. This set up the final matchup between OVO and Set-sy Men. Both teams played hard, but in the end, OVO, a team of seniors, came out on top.
The winning team included Gabe Fierce, Ean Eldred, Blake Bell, Ava Lorbach, Katie Sniezek, and Evie Christenson, earning them the title of the 2026 volleyball tournament champions.
