Highlights:
As we near the winter season, there are some precautions that we should take to make sure everything will go smoothly and safely. It is important to dress for the frigid weather, making sure to have your winter coat, hat, and gloves with you when you are driving. This will make sure that if anything happens to your car and you get stuck, you will be warm while waiting for people to help. This also brings us to driving in the cold and icy weather. As it starts to get icy outside, you should increase your following distance to allow for more time to stop, slow your speed if necessary, and keep moving if you can to allow yourself to not stop on ice. You should also allow yourself time to scrape or defrost your windows to make sure to see through them clearly, along with clearing any snow off your car. This makes it so snow won't fall in front of any windows, blocking your vision, and nothing will fly at the vehicles behind yours.
